How can I get a digital display on IBM PC with only VGA port. Is there a DVI to D-Sub (VGA) adapter out there?

I have a new Samsung 23 "LCD supervisor and I work on a semi-older IBM PC without DVI. The monitor comes with a DVI cable to get a digital display and all I can get is via the analog D - Sub (VGA) cable.
A VGA create is only capable of sending an analog VGA signal. He can not send a TMDS digital video signal which requires a DVI monitor port. Therefore you can not connect a computer directly to the VGA port to a DVI port.

Or, do i finally have to get a DVI monitor to get the full benefit of the DVI port and ultimately the video card.
no, the adapter will "taciturn" down the signal so there is no difference between a vga out and a dvi-->vga out. You would need a new monitor to get the full extras of digital (although its not like its the most noticeable thing in the world).
