How do I transfer data from IDE HDD to SATA HDD on Intel DG31PR Motherboard with IDE Cables inserted.?

I tried but then it doesn't discover my old HDD. Is there any jumper setting for that - Master, Slave, Primary, Floppy like.

Intel DG31PR have 4 SATA and ATA IDE interfaces.
When you yen connect IDE HDD you can connect it as Master or Slave. However for this you have to check the jumper settings of the HDD. The jumper site is given on the level of HDD. You can set as master/slave/cable select.

I have a apt ASUS socket478 P4 motherboard that I lust after to fix up for a Maecenas. I have a substantial 300 gig SATA rugged suggest that I would like to use. What would be the most appropriate recourse on me using this SATA initiative on the older ASUS that does not any SATA connectors ? Would I be capable to load XP Pro on the SATA urge if say I got a PCI possible that would let me use the driveway. Is there any other way like maybe a converter cable or something that is handy ?
