I recently decent bought a new mac computer, and i have footage to imply into ultimate cut, however, these new macs don’t have a firewire…and i be informed USB doesn’t exertion…why did mac have to pressurize over everyone who doesn’t have the up-to-friend SD window-card cameras by getting rid of the firewire?

The MacBooks made between October 2008 and June 2009 do not have a firewire refuge. The MacBook Air does not have a firewire refuge. ALL other Macs made in the last 10+ years have a firewire mooring. Newer Macs are using Firewire800 as opposed to of Firewire400, but even the new MacBooks made after June 2009 have a firewire anchorage. All iMacs, Mac Mini, MacBookPro and MacPro towers, at once now, today, have a firewire refuge.

Since you did not mention us which Mac you are using, we don’t recognize if it is as elementary as your getting a new firewire cable – 4-pin (camcorder DV haven) to 9-pin (new Mac Firewire 800 refuge) for your FinalCut (or iMovie) to importance that video. (This would put back the 4-pin to 6-pin firewire400 cable you acquainted with to use.)
