This will be a good effort. I recommend paying a little more for an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800 +, minimum, or you can get a Pit Intel Core 2 Duo for more. Never get Intel Pentium Ds. They are horrible performance.

I’m structure a new desktop. I built my own PCs before, but I haven’t done it since 2002.
Here’s my doubt: Is any Socket T (LGA775) Intel CPU compatible with any Socket T motherboard?
That means if I buy *any* Socket T motherboard today, I can seal off in *any* Intel counter that has Socket T. The participate b interrupt can be anything that’s ever made (e.g., Pentium 4, Celeron D, Pentium D, Heart 2 Duo, Heart 2 Quad, whatever) or anything that’ll come about out in the later (as extensive as it uses Socket T.) Am I making the established assumption?
My scheme is to buy the superior motherboard and an affordable 65nm Pit 2 Duo fittingly now. Later, when 45nm Nucleus 2 Quad becomes cheaper, I will fair puff out the Nucleus 2 Duo and substitute for it with a Pit 2 Quad. I will upgrade the CPU but keep the same motherboard and configuration. (Of without a doubt, I will still have to reinstall the OS.) That’s my develop. It is hoped, that’s doable.
YES, any Socket T or LGA 775 processor will physically fit any Socket T motherboard.
Recently a guy bought a $1000 Gist i7 990X which turned out to be a LGA775 Pentium 4 Processor (Details), Pretty bad success rate for that guy! Now an IntelPentium G620 has also been spotted which runs on the LGA775 socket. The picture's of the box have been
O produto era um Pentium LGA775 que continha as marcas IHS de um Heart i7-990X da Intel gravadas nele. O comprador não deveria ter muito conhecimento do assunto, pois, não percebeu que o processador estava numa embalagem diferente da que a Intel costuma
