What's the best processor I can buy for a socket 939 motherboard?

I am thoughtful about extending my current system that I built in 2006. I would like to free up some money by not buying a new box set, if I want to install a newer, faster processor.

Wanted: Socket 939 motherboard « Promit's Ventspace

I’m looking for a s939 (AMD) motherboard to put together a mini server system for fair much all my m (SlimDX, SlimTune, AR Labs). I have all the other pieces, it’s rightful the mobo I’m missing. If someone is amenable to send me an old but working one — preferably micro ATX — they’re not using, that would be wonderful. I will pay shipping.

I don’t scarcity to categorically charge anyone into gutting a working system, though. If you can embody a processor that would be adroit, because I’m not assured if the one I have works. 2 sticks of homage would be practical too — I’ve got two but why end there?
